Bea & Jerry Kalinowski have put together a
cruise from McDonald's/Fischer's Store in Spring Branch to lunch at PoPo Family Restaurant (aka Po Po Family Hill Country) in Boerne.
This event is open to anyone attending the cruise-in as well as SAMC members.
The Dare To Be Different Cruise-in runs from March - October on the 1st Saturday of the month from 8:00-11:00am at McDonald's/Fischers Store (7765 U.S. Hwy 281 N, Spring Branch, TX).
Cruise attendees (SAMC and others) will leave Fischer's at 10:30am.
This will be a nice leisurely drive through the Hill Country, with photo op stops along the way, and arriving at PoPo Restaurant approximately at 12:00 Noon.
Cruise Directions:
Exit the parking lot toward Rolling Creek Road, turn left
Turn left onto US-281 N, go 8.7 miles
Turn left onto Ranch Rd 473, go 20.7 miles
Turn left onto Sisterdale Road (FM-1376), go 1.3 miles
Turn right onto Marquardt Road, go 4.2 miles
Turn right onto Cravey Road, go 2 miles
Turn left onto Waring Welfare Road., go 3.9 miles
Bear left at FM-289, go .1 mile
PoPo Restaurant will be on your left (829 FM 289, Boerne, TX 78006).
For SAMC members who wish to just attend the lunch at PoPo's, you can take I-10 West (or East) and get off at Exit 533, which is FM-289. PoPo Restaurant will be on their right (829 FM 289, Boerne, TX 78006).
After lunch, if there is interest in the photo opportunity on Marquardt Road (42 old cars all in a line, plus 2 buffalo):
- from PoPo Restaurant, go north on FM-289 to Waring Welfare Road and turn right
- go 3.9 miles to Cravey Road and turn right
- go 2 miles to Marquardt Road and turn left
- drive in about 2 miles
